M.I. HIGH: THE GRAND MISTRESS ARG

Multiplatform Rose D’or nomination
Canada New Media Award Nomination for Best Kids Interactive

We were contracted to create a series of 3 websites for the M.I. High: The Grand Mistress alternate reality game (ARG), an online extension of the BBC/CBBC tween television series M.I. High. Xenophile producers would provide us with a basic overview, often just a paragraph, and we would design and develop a fully functioning website. Working with the Xenophile producers and writers, we would conceive design layouts incoroporating clues in images or text, and with the tween-aged users in mind.

xPOD ARG

The xPod alternate reality game (ARG) was an online game drama for the CBC television series jPod, based on the best-selling Douglas Coupland novel. For this design contract, we created a series of 5 websites containing fictional content supporting the characters and events in the ARG. The GENETIC POP website is one of 5 ficitional company websites we designed and developed for the M.I. High: Whack The Mole! alternate reality game (ARG), an online extension of the BBC/CBBC tween television series M.I. High. Each website was part of an in-game scavenger hunt and served up clues and hints to the tween aged game players.

ReGENESIS ERG

International Emmy® Award – Best Interactive Program
Gemini Award Best Cross – Platform Project
Canadian New Media Award – Excellence in Cross-Platform
Banff World Television Award – Best Interactive Program

Our very first contract with Xenophile Media was to create a series of 4 fictional company websites for the ReGenesis: Season Two extended reality game (ERG), an online extension of the Canadian television series ReGenesis. Geared to an adult audience, each of the websites we designed had to have the appearance of an actual company website. Hidden within every website were clues and hints which allowed the game player to return to the main ERG portal to complete puzzles and advance to the next episode.
